Stormy Light Poem by Vanilla Thriller

Sitting outside on my front steps
Lightning casting shadows on your face
Clouds covering the dark sky
Your touch making my heart race

Thunder drowns out the sound of my voice
Inside you made a difficult choice
You grab my hand
Pull me to my feet
Bring me closer
Can you feel my heart beat?

Walked me into the yard
Run your fingers through my hair
And you say,

“Right now in my heart dawn is breaking
When it comes to my love for you
There is no mistaking
You bring the light
Into a dark world
So much power
In a small girl
The sun is shining
The skies are clear
My days are bright
When you are near.”

The thunder ceased
My mind was eased
Light began to surround us
I touch your chest
Can you be real?
This is how heaven feels
In your arms is where I want to live
The rain leaves to show the brightness of day
I look up at you and say
“All along I been missing
Love
Guess I haven’t been listening
But now
You’ve brought a storm into my heart
Relentlsly, no mercy
You definitely have left your mark
Promise you won’t hurt me
The love we share
Takes away the never ending pain
When you’re around
You provide me peace
Like the eye of a hurricane.”

To be a glow
One that shows
A love that only me and you know
To be the night
That sorrounds the light
That makes sure all the wrongs
Are right
Rain in the shine
A bond that we shall bind
Slowly
Intricately
Until
The brightness blinds
