Danette Frenz

I was ashamed,
Me I blamed.
Didn’t say no…
Dealt a hard blow.

Can’t take it back
Strength I then lacked.
Where do I begin.
But I was young,
My mind was unwrung.

It’s not my fault
I want to shout.
Fragments and shards
Breaking down hard.

Hurt and pain-
Nightmares estranged.
I was ashamed,
Me I blamed.

Now I know,
I’ve had a lot to grow…
I will be strong
Even when I was wrong.

Poem of the Day

poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

I heard the bells on Christmas day
Their old familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet the words repeat
Of peace on earth, good will to men.
