Struggling Souls (Part 2) Poem by Hira Akhtar

Struggling Souls (Part 2)

"When I've fallen into this pit of treachery to...", I'll be there to pull you up, just give me your hand", I interrupted.
"Manha, this malignancy of betrayal is just like last stage of cancer, it has metastasized whole of my soul", her words sent shivers down my spine.

"And you know, she continued, the Doctor of soul has also left me just as an unfortunate patient dying in his deathbed", she was drenching in hopelessness.

"But He never leaves us, we leave Him", I negated and recited this ayah from Qur'aan e Pak,

Say, 'O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.'

Tears were running down her cheeks.
She hugged me tightly and cried her heart out, and a voice echoed in my mind,

In barren land of heart, seed of Love is sown
Fruits of His blessings will now be shown
The lost came home,
The lost came home
