Sunday Love Poem by Leah Ayliffe

Sunday Love

Sunday afternoons where sun shines through the windows,
Glass shimmers and glitters like diamonds, and heavens rays dancing through the house plants.
Rock on the radio and a stillness that recalls all the movements of the past.
A familiar scene.
Not long ago I sat here with a certain kind of pain, a far away vision.
Things are different, yet not much has changed.
You're going to take me down. Down and out.
And free.
I'm a happy I didn't know existed,
Fate is spiraling upwards in the direction I want to be.
Maybe we will get everything we ever wished for upon the stars.
Maybe we are the lucky ones, the outliers, who get to have and keep each other like the movies.
Tired, but at peace.
A lazy happiness floating down the river until the current is ready to push and pull, and drag us down under. Finding paradise through surrender in the lungs. We don't need so much air.
The sweetest sparkling snowflake, sugar plums and dreams.
The type of dance that ends the night, the blue in the sky that stays.
Magic has graced me and the wind is kind in guidance.
It's all happening - now we just got to have patience, got to believe.
Make a wish and blow the last of the dandelions into the autumn breeze.

Do you want to love me forever?
Do you want to fall in love with me?

'and heavens rays dancing through the house plants' - a wonderful imagery! 'Fate is spiraling upwards in the direction I want to be. Maybe we will get everything we ever wished for upon the stars' - a happy marriage of fantasy and reality!
