Sunshine Darling Of The Divine Poem by Leah Ayliffe

Sunshine Darling Of The Divine

Rating: 2.8

I guess I’ll never know
If I was an angel of luxury,
free to dip my toes in the flames of hell
Once or twice, or maybe more
Without much consequence.
The leisure of pretty wealth,
Or my sparkling mind of innocence.
But to be good is just an idea,
A brilliant idea of the man.
I dream of being a beautiful angel
of kindness.
No boundaries or fear of dear Satan
Dancing happily into the darkness.
I don’t mind being his friend, I don’t mind that it is strange.
I am in love that I can stay lovely
My spirit still divine
A laugh that sounds like what you’d imagine diamonds would sound like
If they could.
I reach for words, the words of a poet
A poetess?
A sunshine darling, a starlight queen
The moon my lover, dreamer, keeper.
They think they have me in chains.
Oh honey believe me, if I were it’s what I want.
But I’m not.
I’m just breathing with my heart
Or is it soul? I do not know such difference
Dance with me today
Tomorrow
Yesterday.
Dance with me to heaven
Hell
Heaven, the divine place within me.
This melody is the only song
And song is the only mending power
Blending all holes, or gaps, or spaces
Between heaven and earth, and hell.
It’s all the same really.
My wings are invisible, but that’s fine with me.
