Sunshine Poem by Sofia Fiona

Sunshine

Sunshine's raw power, and beauty
for my life. It's enough

to love

from a distance though
you can't see death approach.

Sunshine's incredible; magnetic storms
destroy my circuits while continuing

to warm

from a distance
warnings ring. And my body knows

the ball of angry fumes
Is Sunshine's self-destruction. Fair or not?
Everyone burns eventually. So

to long for

from a distance,
might be safest, yes? Tell me
the lies that blister other women as

Sunshine's closing their eyes and glowing
when they're open, blinds them with being

too human

from a distance
even! Psychologists don't fully know

Sunshine's biology-driven
importance to being. A flower that does
the plucking isn't as awe striking as being yours
truly, so

I'll stay

Distant.
