Survival Poem by Reshad Scott

Survival

Rating: 5.0

We were born to survive. Every day we wake up living to the fact that one day we'll die. Knowing this makes me feel as if we have a purpose to serve. Denying the fact that things don't come easily. We pick up on the little things the day that we were born. We learn and they teach, then we teach and they learn. Survival is not practical, for its pure instinct, that's why many of us fend for ourselves. Fear is a wall that blocks us from living the truth. For it's only the beginning of a treacherous journey.

Fine and lofty verse conveying existential reality, written with clarity of thought and mind. Brilliant, thought provoking, intense, clear, and factual. Thanks for sharing Reshad.

Reminds me of the song SURVIVAL popularized by AMERICA.... Great poem, Reshad... I voted 10+++ Survival I'll survive you, I will survive you Well, it's too late, I know, to change the way we go From this day on I want to stay on Now that I've started learning And the tides started turning Well, it's here I want to stay I'll let the moon announce my arrival To every eye that cares to see Just working on the art of survival Where do we go from here, where do we go from here I'm alive here, I can survive dear Though the weather might change From the wind to the rain Well, my heart remains the same I'll let the moon announce my arrival To every eye that cares to see Just working on the art of survival Where do we go from here, where do we go from here Looked out on a sea of trouble And I tried to stall for awhile It's so hard to answer every question And it's hard to protect your heart anymore I'll let the moon announce my arrival (I am alive) To every eye that cares to see Just working on the art of survival (but I wonder) Where do we go from here I'll let the moon announce my arrival (I am alive) To every eye that cares to see Just working on the art of survival (but I wonder) Where do we go from here I'll let the moon announce my arrival (I am alive) To every eye that cares to see Just working on the art of survival (but I wonder) Where do we go from here...
