You Poem by Reshad Scott

You

Rating: 5.0

You know
I don't get many moments like this,
moments to tell you how I feel.

I believe that with every passing minute
I'm falling beneath your feet, and
with every passing hour
I am hanging from your thread.

I wish that I could go back
and change the way I acted,
change the path in which I chose
leading to my unsettling fear
of confidence.

You know
there may never be a right time
Or a right moment for anything, but
time doesn't decide the choices we make,
we do.

I may never be the person
you want me to become, or
be the Romeo to your Juliet, but
I can be more of a needle to your thread
sewing its way back up
to the soft fabric skin
of your delicate hand.

I'm sorry to all, for what I did, and
I'm sorry to you for what you could have become.
I want to start fresh
I want to start new
I want to forgive me, but
most importantly
You.
