The First Time We Met Poem by Reshad Scott

The First Time We Met

Rating: 2.8

The first time we met

I was in a pound
And I was in the comfort of your bedroom

I was scared and dirty
While I smelled of red roses

You treated me like a monster
You treated me like a prince

But I did not care
And I did care

You treated all of us like we were the same
But you treated me like I was different

But I'm not

I wag my tail
I strangle my tail

I lick your hand
I bite your hand

I'm a happy puppy
And I'm a sad puppy

For the first time we met...

You knew what you were looking for.
