Sweet Sanity Poem by Dorsey Baker

Sweet Sanity

Legs weak
Feel like stumbling!
Walking along on the
Edge of a high bridge
River beneath
Its mouth wide open!
Beckons the unsuspecting prey
Unclear thoughts tangled up
In a cloudy brain
Light-headed feather weight
Tricky unsure balance
Swerve and sway
Hard to stay your sanity
Filthy sure-footed salamander
follows the scent of
Fear and its sweaty face
Weighty nothingness
Increases constantly
Demons unlimited surround
the wounded soul
Angry bumble bees
Swarm in the stale and
Musty air
An invisible force felt
The spirit
Is trying to take flight!
