Sweetheart Poem by Binoy Barman

Sweetheart

She lives beyond this familiar sky
Beyond this familiar joy and sorrow
In some far-away galaxy, dreamy as morrow
Out of vision, whole or part
No rules, no bindings
Free, she lives at my heart.

Did it rain yesterday?
Leaves have turned greener
Grasshoppers play on the carpet of grass
Talk more of love and kiss, dear
Buzzing breeze whispers to rose:
Look! How beautiful the evening goes.

Soul cries for soul
Whose eyes she stole?
Music forgets the tune of eternity
When the ocean unveils its knee
Truth knows only one thing on earth
I belong to her … she belongs to me.
