Take My Life Poem by Mcanthony Nwatu

Take My Life

Take my life not as
The dog dies without perceiving
The enticing fragrance of feces.
Egypt must see me
Let me live to give Noah the oak leaf

Take my life not for sins' sake
But for the contract's sake
I must get to Nineveh
I fear not death for its eternal.
Then I pray:

Take just my life when
The contract is over.
Take just my life when
The transactions are over
And when thee have no other
Task for me. Then at least
May I rest in the bosom
Of your toe-nail forever.
