We take one day at a time
As we stroll through the years
Life is not always easy
There are problems that bring tears
Our families work together
We all do the best we can
We welcome the new babies
To our fertile and treasured land
We truly love our grandparents
And learn from them so much
We are taught to respect our parents
For they teach with a ‘sturdy’ touch
Our aunts, uncles and cousins
Also make us the people we are
We try to keep in touch with them
For some live so very far
We grow up and have our own families
A new life is what we find
Then we teach the new generation
To take one day at a time!
Yes indeed Marilyn, a wise statement. Let us hope that we keep learning about the good and right things, even at an advanced age! ! ! ! ! ! Lovely piece of writing. Love and hugs Ernestine XXX

A lovely piece. There's nothing as important as the bosom of a family. Some families are small some are large, all our necessary. Ialso enjoyed the rythmn and rhyme in here. Best Steve

What a poem with a message! Well versed, well expressed. Yes, this is the root of life. We are all born out of these roots. We are indebted to our past generations. We owe a responsibility to hand over the treasure to all future generations. Well done! 10+
