Tell Me Poem by Bancroft Boreland

Tell Me

Tell me
What are the secrets you keep?
What are the answers you seek?
What are your hopes and dreams?
What love really means

You are the water in my sea
The sugar in my tea
The air I breathe
The food I need
You are the blossom of my flower
And the minutes in my hour
You are my every heartbeat
You’re in my dreams
Every time I go to sleep

Tell me you need me
Like the fire needs the oxygen
Like women need men
Like the planets need the universe
Like a song needs a verse
Like a writer needs words
Like an artiste needs imagination

Tell me how much you care
Tell me how much you want to share
Tell me that your love is real
And tell me how you really feel
I know you want to say
What I need you to say
Don’t be afraid, just tell me
Tell me you love me.
