Terrified Child
you came so close
you ignored sharp teeth and bloody claws
you came so close aware yet unafraid
and you soothed me
you entered my bed and let me sleep
a long deep sleep
you watched me sleep
you watched over me while i slept
you kept all others at bay
i showed you my scars and you showed me yours
and with our love we have healed what we could
i still let no-one close to me
more out of habit than want
