Terror In Terhan (Inspired By Neda) Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

Terror In Terhan (Inspired By Neda)

There is terror in Terhan
Turn your news on
Innocent blood in the street
As protestors are shot, silenced and beat

But there is more than just what you see
There is a persecution of Christianity
Check on the internet where imformation is free
At least, it should be, for the sake of liberty

There are Christians in Iran
Though you may not realize
And the government does not promote change or sympathize
People are being persecuted before our eyes

The crowds call for a new sense of choice
They try to make the world hear their voice
As the streets are being closed and sealed
The attempt to suppress is clear and revealed

At stake with giving citizens a voice
Is giving them an opportunity for wide-sweeping freedom of choice
We're witnessing minority dilution via brute force and persecution
Murder in the streets cannot be accepted as the solution

The world should not passively stand by
As brave dissenters take to the streets and cry
While oppressive government bloodshed suppresses
The world should intervene before more are targeted to die

There is terror in Terhan
Something profound is going on
A modern day situation
with much greater social and religious implication

But once the suppressed people feel their might
They'll honor their dead and wounded, once alive and bright
And as their heart's grow bolder and in the right
They will for their fallen vow to continue their fight

Until the status quo finally acknowledges freedom's right
And liberty see's the day's bright light
Instead of being forced hide in the dark
Knowing the fear of persecution is their reality stark

Impressive grey beards and superiority's dark cloak
Can no longer rule with an iron will and dagger
When the public catches on and feels it's swagger
That the elections were just a joke
