Thank A Teacher Poem by Randy McClave

Thank A Teacher

You should always remember this
A teacher taught you correctly how to poop and piss,
And how to walk and talk and then how to dress
It was a teacher who taught you how to impress.
A teacher also taught you in school
How to learn and then to educate you not to be a fool,
And then when from school or college you did graduate
It was because of a teacher for that fate.
Remember who was to concern
When you were pushed to understand and to learn,
And who taught you how to read and to write
So, pledges and poetry you could create and recite.
If you become a lawyer or an engineer or a doctor
Or even a scientist or a movie star,
Or even if you learn computers to do IT support
Even if you're a stenographer in the court.
If you are an astronaut in deep, deep space
Or a social worker or a police officer working on a case,
Even if you become a missionary or even a preacher
Remember this, you must always thank a teacher.
