That's What People Do Poem by Ketan Hukare

That's What People Do

Rating: 5.0

A foot off the bridge and
I was down in the river
Floating by the logs, amongst
The dead and the dyvour.
In came the flood from
The dam ‘Promises to keep'
Slapped me hard by its lie
And sent me to sleep.
I thought I was so done
Swimming my hardest days all confused
Yes, I tried to give away
After all that's what people do.

I woke up to the aurora
In the land of treachery and lies.
Natives there made me believe
It was all rainbows and butterflies.
I tried to take a way through
But my heart was confused;
A part of it was lumped away
And a part of it was bruised.
They said that time will heal it
But I never had any clue
So, I threw it out of the window
Well, that's what people do.
I feel guilty of the knives stabbed at my back
And the things I cannot undo.
Let's try to sleep through this pain,
After all, that's what people do.

I was down in the river In came the flood Swimming my hardest After all that's what people do. In the land of treachery and lies. They said that time will heal it And the things I cannot undo i feel guilty. Let's try to sleep through this pain, These are the points i collected from your beautiful poem. Thank you for your thoughts, imaginations and the brilliance of your mind. You are using symbols. I took the falling down in the river as a symbol, guilt, cogitation afterwards. What shall i do. and your conclusion that is what people do. Very good poets use symbols always. we understand it only when we read a poem very carefully. I did it for you. Thank you for asking me to read it. Thank you. tony

That's the thing one can do when all things go beyond limit! Keep it up!
