The African Summer Poem by Julius Lenaiyarra

The African Summer

Rating: 5.0

The blooms and blossoms
The green shines
The mirrages of the day
The sun; scorching hot
As everything turns to life
Such is the African summer.

The intense heat of the afternoon
The lively live environs
Songs could be heard
From a distance
Looking from across the plains;
Little children
Ran and about
The Summer African game
Chasing multicolored butterflies
That define Africa's
Aesthetic beauty
As the African Summer does.
