The End Poem by christopher murphy

The End

Rating: 5.0

The burning embers of love surround my heart,
still smouldering, but dying slowly.
Starved of oxygen, as i am starved of your love.
Gone are the flames of desire, that once lit up my soul within.
All that remains of a love that was everything,
doused by bitterness and disappointment.
Soon they will become cold and lifeless.
With time my heart will heal.
awaiting words of kindness and a gentle caress.
Once again to ignite the flames of desire,
only then will my heart be whole again.

The dying embers of love surround my heart leaves a heavy feeling in my heart. Very well written. I like this very much.

I don't think anyone has said it better. Very good composition.
