The End Comes Before The End Poem by Shalom Freedman

The End Comes Before The End

THE END COMES BEFORE THE END
(For those who lost their last job now, and for myself, perhaps)

The end comes before the end
When nothing more can be done
One has given one’s life to a work
Now suddenly – undone.

Years remain
What is there to do?
Loneliness, Boredom
Poverty, Too.
