Upon this day we wrote our epitaph with scarlet letters
And saw as fit, humanity to be only a word
Outshine the Heavens a million ephemeral stars sent skyward
Till all the cities of the world in the Dark Sun’s light had cowered
The war birds fly, metallic wings unfurled
To carry Death to every corner of the world
The Sun’s fire upon the earth we hurled
Dreams, hopes…upon so many battlefields fell slaughtered
The azure sky we burnt and watched it as it crashes
Oceans deep blue we turned to blood and filled with ashes
The jewel of Life now singed, into the arms of death she plunges
With iron tears and groans of lead its only funeral marches
Burial clouds horizons invade wildly
Pillars of darkness, extinguish light witch shone so brightly
The Final Sunset, usurped of brilliance… so lightly
Condemned souls on the shore seeking the others warmth hug tightly
The final fate of us awaited since creation
Now gazed upon in hopeless desperation
The witnesses to perfect, pointless desolation
One final prayer, now uttered... resignation
That all the lives that ever lived
Should not in vain have struggled
Too cruel a joke for destiny to now embrace
And no redeemer come to give a thimble full of grace
