All our lives we had lived apart
separated by time - by sea by land.
How can I sleep at night
if night is your day?
I ponder the far fields
that you walk upon your way.
In southern height of summer
I feel the northern winter frost
a blizzard rages, in torment
without the meltem, this soul; is lost.
Joy is to sit beside you
joy is to hold your hand
joy is to see you smile
in your native land.
I’ll speak your name by moonlight
I speak your name by day.
When the time draws near
so swift I’ll fly to stay.
Say goodbye say goodbye
how could we say goodbye?
Wherever I go you go with me
through water earth and sky.
