A stranger asked me if I missed you today.
But honestly, I didn't know what to say.
I'll admit it's not the same without you here by my side.
I guess those butterflies will never subside.
To actually miss you;
I don't know about that.
I just got my life back on track.
So for you to tell me about these feelings you never expressed before;
you might as well take my heart and slam it to the floor.
Go ahead.
Do it.
This wouldn't be the first time.
You never fail to cross the line.
So tell me pretty b a b y;
are you still acting shady?
Yeah, I heard about your girlfriend.
That was the saddest I had ever been.
For me to forgive you; that took almost everything I had.
You'd think after all of that, I'd still be raging mad.
But no, I treated this as if it was just a phase.
I lived through everyday with my heart in a daze.
Because your eyes, boy; yeah, they took me a w a y.
They even gave me the strength to write this song today.
And I hope that these words are breaking your mind open.
Just remember, my heart never stays broken.

The truth is I have. And I’m slowly going crazy.
The memories we shared are burned into my mind.
Do you know how much it killed me to leave you behind?
