The great king passed away
Leaving the kingdom in grief
His mortal body laid to rest
Next day the king was hailed
His heir apparent being crowned…
The disciple then asked the sage:
What’s left behind?
Of one who leaves this stage?
His Name; mused the sage:
Will live long through an Age!

Very apt and clever words...truth is beauty..so is your poem
Kesav you are a desciple of the great king who will be remembered for ever his heavenly body will never rest... very nice piece indeed regards
A well thought out write with a meaningful message. Simply conveyed but it gave a punch.
Yes. Death is inevitable. The power would be passed over. But great men will be remembered through their actions beyond death. Liked your comment Rose Marie
An astute observation on life and the cycle of power of the chosen few. To those countries who still practice monarchy, power will only be concentrated within the family circle. Their names will live long whether they contributed something or nothing for the betterment of their country.
That's the meaning of life, some are lucky, some aren't. When a door is closed, another one is opened, that's the mechanic of life. Very good lines, good theme and idea.
life is ephermal. everything changes, maybe just form... yes. the good lives long after we are gone. 10 Mamta
