The Heart’s Of Men Poem by Terence George Craddock (Spectral Images and Images Of Light)

The Heart’s Of Men

Rating: 4.0

It is said that ‘the heart's of men
are bad from their youth upwards.’

Sometimes the heart's of men
are provoked inflamed
by incidents that happen to them

men especially seem to carry
such anger more than most women
a mild reproach quietly spoken

may still inflame such souls
the truth a barb hooking
such souls in guilt fury livid

apparently the truth is
a two edged sword
beware back swipes!

what is real truth?
‘many a true word was
spoken in anger’

‘the truth will have its day’
about anger what to say?
Let us answer truthfully.

If we confess to believe in God
then we also believe in Satan
who desires to sow hate and anger.

We choose who we will serve!

Jesus said to give him our anger
to carry, and this we must strive to do.
With practice seems easier to do.

All that is good in me
comes from God
and his divine wisdom.

I do not judge I discern.
I did not promise God
I would not sin because

in thoughts and deeds
I fail constantly.
But I try and of the two

most important commandments
Jesus spoke of at Matthew
22: 37-40, the first is easy.

“You must love Jehovah your God
with your whole heart and with your
whole soul and with your whole mind.

This is the greatest and first commandment.

The second, like it, is this,

‘You must love your neighbour as yourself.’

On these two commandments the
whole Law hangs, and the Prophets.”

But the second (The whole world
is our neighbour! Unlike Stephen
I would not be praying to God to

forgive those stoning me to death.
But I have come a long way
and God willing still have far to go.
