The Journey Of Rags Poem by Godwin Kavaarpuo

The Journey Of Rags

I was greeted with tears
And shouts of lamentation
Rapped in tatted rags
I started off to the unknown

On the street i sought my destiny
Crying and shouting every day
I strangled under the scorching sun
And the hostile weather too

My nights were fiery and cold
The tooting of horns
and
blasting of loud speakers were all
I possessed
Hunger and pain were my only companions

I lamented with the shadows
and the shadows without
Eli lema sabachthani
and now I wait for my conduits to run dry
As I sleep to wake no more
