The keeper of dreams
dishes them out.
He searches and finds
the sleepers in doubt
and delivers strange
and frightful ones
to all the daughters, all the sons
that live their lives
unfaithfully
making them atone
unmercifully.
Strange and nightmarish scenes
he does send,
making their days and nightimes blend.

He searches and finds
the sleepers who know
all about love
and to make it go
into the lives
of all they meet,
lessening their troubles
and helping defeat
their loneliness.
To these he delivers
dreams of calm
and soothes their brows
with annointed balm,
making their days
and nights never end.
