The Keeper Of The Keys Poem by Zayne Venilos

The Keeper Of The Keys

Rating: 4.0

Who is it thus, that we try to be?
Is it real or not meant to be?
I ask you this, my friend
is it not for the Keeper of the Keys?

We see it all day by day
but yet we wonder who to convey
we ask many things from this ominous being
but who are we to bargain with the Keeper of the Keys?

With skeletons placed on the rings
used to unlock somethings and nothings
To open up the cosmos and bolt away the world
this virtue cannot be given to a mere mortal
It can only be held by the Keeper of the Keys

Swear on your life and sign in blood
and bind your soul to Greed
Your life, locked away forever
held by the Keeper of the Keys

As humans we assess those we don't know
but is it in our place to judge their lives?
Opinionated fools we are, we won't ever know their woes
withered and dead at the feet of the Keeper of the Keys

Who is it thus, that we try to be?
Is it real or not meant to be?
I ask you this, my friend
is it not for the Keeper of the Keys?
