The Life You Want Poem by Ray Hansell

The Life You Want

I see I've lost it all
The day you walked away
I said to myself
I can find my own way

I said, I don't need her
I can go it alone
I wish I had that power
Like a King upon his throne

Just when you think
You don't need no one else
When your down and out
That's when loneliness is felt

I wonder were we meant
To live our life alone
I think that answer
May for ever be unknown

I know there are people
Who have lived the married life
I know they will say
For them it turned out so right

But like everything else
It's not for everyone
So, live the life you want
As long as you are happy
When your life is done
