The Little Prince Poem by Negar Gorji

The Little Prince

Once upon a midnight mystery
I had a dream unearthly
A wonderland of Baobab trees
Where sitting a Little prince
Painting a portrait
He had seen in his dream
The portrait was called Love
As it was sacred in his heart

Me, excited to see it
While he frowned upon me
That was the only way
He could own her an' told me
She's all true beauty
Freshness, blessing
And above all, eternity

I longed to know where he lives,
He just stared at the sky
A little twinkling star
Far, far from this sky
Then, it got red and grimy
I begged him to take me
But he just gave me
His rosy yellow scarf.
Closing his blue eyes
Vanishing while opening my eyes,
I hugged the dearest scarf
To may bring him back to my side.

Since then, I'm painting him
The glittering just eyes
To may talk to him, my sweet heart,
Wakeful all day and night
To seek Love star,
Wish to see him once more
To take me to the golden world.

Interesting story and writing. I like the painting that goes along with the poem. Where did the painting come from? Thanks for sharing.
