The Lupus Cycle

The moon inscribes a full circle, the time is nigh
The animosity takes my soul, sanity wave’s goodbye

My human form is ripped to pieces
No use in clinging to my morality as it ceases

I am becoming the internal raging thing that I fear
The beast takes hold of the wheel and begins to steer

I have become Night stalker

Release the beast within
I hunt my prey despite the sin
I find my victim and I tear in
Blood everywhere she screams and I grin

I have become Shadow walker

Vicious prowler of the night
I hunt with power and might
I feed on your pathetic fright
I lust for your utmost plight

I have become heaven Mocker

I have changed the form your god has given me
I have defied him and his holy decree
Tearing from my prison of human flesh I am free
Not even your heavenly father can prevent my killing spree

A full moon was the key
To my fleshy lock
The midnights light sets me free
Fill the town with shock

But alas the moon she fades
And with her dies my rage incarnate
And so ends my joyous raids
The sunrise brings my howling disbarment

So rarely I’m set to rage among you
Not often enough do I get to satisfy my hunger and feed
Once again I am to be chained and hidden from view
Ill disappear along with the full moon until I am again freed

The moon now gone I feel him return
That tiny weak pathetic fellow
I shrink, I shrivel, I revert, and once again it is the bone bags turn
Dear animosity leaves the soul, bitter sanity wave’s hello.

poet Percy Bysshe Shelley

We are as clouds that veil the midnight moon;
How restlessly they speed, and gleam, and quiver,
Streaking the darkness radiantly!--yet soon
