I lay my hand upon your chest
And feel the man within -
The trembling of a heavy heart
Beats just beneath the skin;
A heart that yearns to understand
The burden that it bears,
Sometimes the pain is so intense
You think nobody cares;
And yet this heart is ever full
Of endless love to give -
No matter how uncertain
It still has the right to live,
And even though you worry
Let the healing now begin,
That I may lay my hand upon
The man that dwells within.

Linda, Of course Ridge gives the best comment on this work of yours. You know, rhyme is not fashion, but by gosh it makes a poem memorable. Even though males are so different to we females, you can understand the emotion that they so often cover. Such an insightful glimpse into the heart and soul of a man. Karin Anderson
To understand someone so intimately, as evidenced here, is to look deeply into that person’s soul, casting aside all else that may obscure its clarity. To write of that which you see honors that someone beyond that one is able to adequately describe…it honors you as well and is testament to the beautiful being you are. It is simply beautiful in every detail.
Wonderfully sensitive writing, encouraging acceptance, allowing a sharing that goes beyond the physical.
