The Necklace Poem by Barry Pook

The Necklace

A live soul on one side,
One dead on the other,
It takes you on lifes ride,
Be it sister or brother.

The skull it sits there muted,
With it's glowing red eyes,
It will or can be disputed,
Our lifetime one big surprise.

Silver on a chain held tightly,
A lesson learned for everyone,
See it clearly day or nightly,
The journey's often richly won.
