The Need To Kill The Love Poem by ANAR (Issath Rehana Mohamed Azeem )

The Need To Kill The Love

Rating: 4.5

Let the two of us depart
Bury this extreme love
We seized from each other
Into the pits of this night
Besieged with menace

I have strewn away in the sky
Your smiles, the sweet secrets of your voice
Murmured into my ears

The surviving songs and the touch of yours
I have let them float in a mirage of space
As tiny foaming bubbles

The broken mementoes
Are masked in the ashes of the hearth

The first poem you presented to me
I fed on it for lunch
'No clues remain'
Yet teach me how to kill
The butterfly fluttering in memories
With the minutes I called you by name as its colours
And the fancied kisses as its eyes…

Amazing. This reflects realistically a moment of a shattering love affair on the edge of a knife. I like all the metaphoric expressions in it. Thanks for sharing.
