The News Christmas Morning
Silent night, holy night!
All is calm, all is bright.
"Here is the 9 O'clock news,
Another child has been stabbed
Whilst playing with friends."
"A migrant boat has sunk in
The English Channel there were
No survivors."
Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at at the sight.
"A nurse was stabbed tending
A patient in A&E who was high
On heroin."
"A driver fled the scene of an
Accident in which a young mother
and child were run over."
Silent night holy night!
Son of God, love's pure light.
"A homeless woman was found
Dead in the sub-zero temperature
Earlier this morning."
"Two pensioners were robbed of
Christmas presents bought for their
Grandchildren yesterday."
Christmas is supposed to be the season of good will, but listening to the news whilst playing the carol Silent Night on my clarinet it seems anything but. What has society become, where did it all go wrong, how do we make it better?

A very keen observation. Sad but true. Statistics show that crimes of roberry and other crimes against property are rampant duriing Christmas. Let us hope and pray, this Christmas will be a lot better.

You must remember the light of the world during this time of the year. He will come to save us all
