The Oldest City Poem by Jonathan Platt

The Oldest City

Rating: 4.5

It is the oldest city still standing -
Its years surpass those of the sun's.
Its construction was completed
The instant it had begun.

As fragile as it is sturdy...
As luxurious as it is plain...
God's home as no equivalent -
We all hope to live there some day.
