The Park In Sunshine Poem by Hazel Wilson

The Park In Sunshine

The sun shines upon every face
The little children running, finding the innocent joy in how it feels to spin round and round
The new mum seeing the hope in the world as she pushes her new born around the path, with the laughter of children bringing a quiet joyful smile to her face
The young boys playing football, the celebration of a goal between two jumpers lay upon the ground a perfect copy of the idol they hold so dear
The young girls sitting on the grass, discussing future dreams as they feed daisy upon daisy into chain
The lone woman sitting against the tree reading, finding meaning in each word as see sits absorbed in her natural surroundings
The dog walkers thankful for the dry day and the dutiful task done, with the silent pleasure in the act unbeknown to the lovable four legged kind
The lovers lay upon a blanket cloud gazing, wrapped in the warmth of perfect happiness they share
And me the observer of life in its many different forms, alone in complete melancholy rapture
If the sun had not shone this day what beautiful moments to be missed
