The Plane Takes Off Poem by Samlayy Broussard

The Plane Takes Off

Rating: 5.0

They Said I Need An Exit.
To Where No one Can Find Me, Because No one Wants To.

The Plane Takes Off-

The Wonders Of The World, I See In Black And White.
In Only wishing To Fly.
To See The World Above The Sky.

In Dishonored Remedy,
Blinded By Only The Sun,
Everything Dark...
Once Consumed By Light,
Now Consumed By Only Darkness.

I Wish To See The Beauty I Once Saw,
Only In Color.

To See The Sun And The Bluest, Of Skies.

The Plane Takes Off,
Sitting On The edge Of Her Seat
As A Child Looking Through The Window,
Wondering,
Will We Crash And Fall To The Earth.

Never Once Did it happen.

I Heard A Story Once,
Of A Blind Soldier.
Sworn To See Again,
But Only Finding The Exit,
The Exit To Where He Saw Again.
And Through Which,
He Died And Went To Heaven.

What A Fairytale To Me This Was.

Silence...
Burns My Ears.

Waking Up To No One.
Or Nothing.

The Plane Crashes To The Earth,
Only To Be Swallowed By The Ground.
The Many Passengers Screaming,
Praying To Still Be Alive Afterwards.

Only One, Survivor.

The Child,
That Was Sitting At The edge Of Her Seat,
Wondering Will We Crash...

Yes It Did Happen.
Only Coming Back To Memory After Such A Long Time
Of waiting.
Waiting For Her To See,
And Remember The Beauty Of Being Alive.

Looking Around At The Sadness,
And The Scattered Bodies.
Only Then Did She See In Color...

A Color Not Wanted To Be Seen...
Red As Blood,
And Paleness Of People,
Screaming In The Distance

She Was Never Heard.
