The Power Of Fried Chicken Poem by Kevin Patrick

The Power Of Fried Chicken

Rating: 5.0

Was at Poppeyes last night
the smell of fried chicken
taunted my stomach
as grease battered fragrance
stained the air
and looking around i was amazed
at the diaspora of humanity

Asians, east and west, Africans
Americans, south and central
the atypical white person
even an indigenous man
all stood around waiting
in line or for their orders
and I looked it was like
the united nations of all persuasions
not brought here by politics
but by scrumptious deep fried chicken

and that when it hit me
swimming in this microcosm of humanity
the magnitude and indomitably
that is the power of fried chicken

yes, I realized in that pithy franchise
how fried chicken is important to humanity
it brings together
every race and every creed,
every age and gender
conquering the schools of politics
and triumphs over religion
and I wanted to cry
as the smell filled my eyes
that with a little effort
we could build world peace
through the bonds of fried chicken

yes my friends
popeyes showed me the truth
humanity can be saved
in eating deep fried poultry
regular or spicy,
honey garlic or ghost pepper
whatever your choice
we are united by our stomachs

and as I walked out
carrying my three piece platter
it made me revel in jubilation
how the true brotherhood of man
can finally come together
if we all just ate fried chicken

3) cont'd: If you haven't already done so, you might wanna consider sharing this wonderful poem with Popeyes. That would make their day! BTW: Mary Brown's is tastier. And it's fully Canadian!

2) cont'd: Wouldn't it be nice if someone could invent food that would make us never ever engage in war again? Add that extra spice of your humour into that chicken...it just might work.
