The Power Of Women Poem by Kaveri Manoharan

The Power Of Women

Rating: 5.0

The light that we see keeps us going,
At times we are abandoned and at times disregarded.
Deprived of education, we yearn for knowledge.
The might of our spirit keeps us going.
The chores are our acquaintances,
Dried dishes and ill- lit wells, keeps us going,
But we keep gazing at the stars,
For one day, we too crave to gleam radiantly.
Domestic violence and abuses keeps us groaning,
Well none seems to see us grousing.
The obscurity creeps in our hearts,
For our heart now aspires for protection.
A sweet home, safe hands and some soft words, will keep us going.
Remember those days, when my sort struggled for liberty,
They are well-illustrated in books!
Give us reverence, give us rights,
For all of us ought to feel freedom!
Freedom to fly high and to fly our ambitions…
With slogans and strikes we express ourselves,
And the day doesn’t seem so far-off,
When mankind will put an end to this discrimination,
And Men will bow before the power of women!
