The Question...If Poem by Asma Khan

The Question...If

If faith was a promise to keep
I could've given you
my last breath to keep
this fragile gift

If life was a gift to adore
I could've sent you
the dreams to fall in love
with me or my memories

If love was a moment to share
I could've shown you
the joys of eternity in
heaven of our existence

If friendship was a dream to see
I could've made you
sleep for your entire life
and accompany you in the never ending saga

If our separation was a question
I could've asked you
to write it off from
the book of destiny

If death was an option
I could've told you
to take it before you
and let you life for my sake

If loneliness was immanent
I could've chosen you
to sacrifice me in the
honor of love
