The Safest Place On Earth Poem by Gordon Bailey

The Safest Place On Earth

is when I close my eyes.
Beyond the darkness I can see,
all the things that mean so much to me.

I can visit places in my dreams,
that I've never before seen.
I can keep out all the badness,
but can keep in all the gladness.

This place that's safe inside my head,
is such a special place so said.
Its a place were bad things never are,
were I can always be as free as a star.

This darkness is so warm to me,
its my place I call sweet tranquility.
Its where you go to be set free,
away from life's daily drudgery.

So this inner sanctum of sweet serenity.
Where life is how it should really be.
This place where I can call my very own.
This spirited carefree loving zone.

So when people ask me where I long to be.
I close my eyes and count out one, two, three.
And there I am, there's no mystery.
The safest place on earth and it belongs to me.
