The Silence Of A Sea Poem by Dónall Dempsey

The Silence Of A Sea

Rating: 5.0

I step into
the old photograph

& again
the water closes over me

& I sink to the bottom
of a time long ago

swimming amongst
love & laughter.

Somewhere a sky exists
above all this

but now
all is water.

I follow you following a fish following a fish

as we reach towards the surface
out of breath...kiss

enter the dimension
of the sun again

an horizon
drawing a line between

sky & sea.

I stepping out(of the photograph) now

closing it...after me
hearing it...click close

behind me

the silence
of a sea.

metaphorically well expressed sentiments...you lines took the reader also in a reverie....
