The Solitary Girl Poem by Dipankar Sadhukhan

The Solitary Girl

Rating: 5.0

On a romantic starry night
Sitting beside a window alone
The girl spends a sleepless night
And the stars glittering in the sky
Are smiling at her.

Perhaps she thinks -
Her sweetheart has gone far away
To become a shining star;
To love her from the sky
And to make her mind so shiny.

The girl stares at the sky
And counts the numerous stars.
Thus she passes the night
And her lonely heart brims
With the showers of sorrow and pain.
