The Sound of Freedom

The air is humid on this dark night
Smell of gunpowder in the air
The bright flashes of light fill the sky
Thunderous booms echo in the night
A dazzling array of expression
Such a act of hardship and strife
Sometimes over looked and marketed

In the eyes of a soldier
It is a symbol we stand for
To fight for all eternity
So that this night sky can be filled
With the sound of freedom

In my eyes
It is what makes me strong
To grit my teeth against pain and trails
Pushing on through sweat and blood
Charging head on into challenges and persecution
My enemy will not take this from me

I will protect my home
And all those I love dearly
It is the sound of freedom
Beating like a drum

poet Ambrose Bierce

Weather
by Ambrose Bierce

Once I dipt into the future far as human eye could see,
And I saw the Chief Forecaster, dead as any one can be--
Dead and damned and shut in Hades as a liar from his birth,
