The Source Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

The Source

When grown folks who have aged,
Remain with their minds to stay...
Focused on childhood activities,
Performed decades long gone.
To have faded away.
Most children raised,
In these environments...
Without guidance or discipline,
To become responsible men and women
Should be praised.
Since the source,
Of their determination...
To escape from crowded playgrounds,
Had to have been like boulders...
Pushing up hills.
With a mindset driven...
To kill beliefs...
They were not destined to teach,
Irresponsibility...
As part of their heritage,
To keep forever sacred.
