The Spanish Wine Poem by Akhtar Jawad

The Spanish Wine

Rating: 5.0

Habits easily developed,
Difficult to give up,
The habit to take the Spanish wine,
before the meals,
was too indecent.
In absence of sherry,
It will be painful,
and irritating,
may not take a meal tonight,
But in a few days,
I’ll be all right.
The bottle of sherry
will remain on the shelf.
I was afraid of tremors
of my weak old hands.
The bottle is so beautiful!
How could I break it!

The bottle is so beautiful! How could I break it! .... This is the travesty of desire. It is indeed very difficult to give up things which have been a part of your nostalgic past. Thanks for sharing an amazing poem.

Wish I could be like you so soft and gentle with the bottles. Hope you will extend such kindness to everything beautiful. Ha Ha Ha! (10)
