The Suicide Poem by NITHEESH ANNADANAM

The Suicide

He stood at the edge of the seven floor
building
And peeped down nervously
the cars and bikes looked like rats and mice
he bit his lips and tightened his fist
And took a deep breath

'He's committing suicide'someone cried
People flocked below,
'No, no'the sounds arose
'Why do you hesitate? go on'his mind said
He looked into himself
'You get the chance of living only once. And you?
you want to commit suicide? '

Go, prove the world that you are a coward'
he hung his head in shame
He descended the building and spoke to the people
'I want to live
I will live
And I am going to live'
