You taught me how to fly

above the skies...

Yes, you!

YOU! You without wings!

You taught me how to fly

Beyond dreams

How lovely that you remember to pay such a delightful tribute to a dear teacher....so many do not value those that taught them...10

Teachers can be angels or devils I think and obviously this one was the former..... They have such power in their hands to shape and make us who we are, well to a certain extent...... Ruth

A wonderful tribute - the repetition of 'you' is used to admirable effect, especially in 'You without wings! ' - superb! S :)

We who teach do not have to succeed at what we teach; we only have to believe that those we teach will far out-surpass our fondest expectations.

I think flying without wings and that too beyond dreams is a skill one learns on ones own! ? !

A very nice, short, simple and meaningful capsule-like poem full of love and respect for a teacher. Only a teacher can make you feel like this. Marvelous feelings indeed. Thanks for sharing, Sonya. Best Wishes Naseer

Dan Rather said: The dream begins with a teacher who believes in you, who tugs and pushes and leads you to the next plateau, sometimes poking you with a sharp stick called 'truth.'...... And very rightly Ms Sonya, you have come up with a wonderful description of what a teacher does to us and how our lives are enlightened by the teachings of a teacher. A beautiful short poem so compact in its essence that it should be rated as far more that a simple tribute to the teacher....
